Yiwu Timeall right, i'm a copycat, but i loved the idea of this post, and i couldn't help asking myself the question. so, if they come on, and there's nobody around to outvote me, what movies do i always watch?
so here are some, off the top of my head, in no particular order. this list is by no means exhaustive, complete, or even well-though-out. then again, that makes me suspect that it's very authentic.
1) october sky. i love the father-son relationship in this movie
2) back to the future. while it's not my favorite movie of all time, like some people, it's still such a great movie. i just love michael j fox! which at least partially explains--
3) teen wolf . i know, i know. but still. i love the town, i love mjf, i love that the cute-but-average-brunette girl who's just a friend gets the guy. over the blonde popular girl. and he's mjf.
4) rear window. it's so well-made, i just can't help it. and i love jimmy stewart.
5) the majestic a beautiful story, and one in which jim carrey actually acts instead of just self-indulgently mugging his way through.
6) harvey another jimmy stewart film, and one of my favorite movies of all time.
7) stargate i love this movie. because i always loved ancient egypt, and because, let's face it, james spader was really really hot in it.
8) the three musketeers with michael york. because he was really really hot in this movie.
9) the philadelphia story kate, jimmy (again!), cary... good grief, it's amazing!
10) the lion in winter kate again, anthony hopkins, peter o'toole... and a ton of intrigue, scathing dialogue, and, some very black humor. riveting, completely riveting.
